We are proud to announce our new name, Tessera!
We know all too well the enormous demands and needs of families living with autism. Formerly known as Northwest Academy for Exceptional Children, our new name reflects our expanding programs and services in residential, recreation and education. Tessera creates lifelong learning experiences for individuals with autism so that they have every opportunity to reach their full potential. We are a non-profit organization committed to developing educational programs; promoting and developing residential living opportunities; and offering inclusive, community-based recreational and social activities for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.

A tessera is a tile used in a mosaic. Alone it’s nothing but a plain and simple cube. Yet beautiful images are created when combined with other tesserae. Join us! Together we will create beautiful opportunities and rich experiences for every stage of life.
