Autism is one of the great mysteries of our time. Six decades ago the disorder was first identified and still nobody knows what causes it. What makes some kids excel, while others can't utter a word? In Seattle, at Seattle Children's Autism Center, scientists are hunting for clues.
In a KING 5 Children's Healthlink special, we share their progress and introduce you to some of the most fascinating kids you'll ever meet. From their parents we hear first-hand what it's like to raise a child with autism, and we join one family as they take their first steps to the "world within."
